Nickel plated steel wire with 2, 4, & 8% by weight of pure nickel it can be used in many cases as a cost efficient substitute for pure nickel wire. Nickel plated steel is used in vacuum tubes, batteries, wrap wire for music strings, filter screens, and more.

Chemical Composition

The nickel plated steel wire used by Ken-tron has a low carbon steel core of 1006 steel and a percent by weight of pure nickel (99.5% minimum pure nickel including any percentage of cobalt).
